Still formally a part of the Russian Federation, Chechnya remains one of the most difficult places for Christians in Russia. Persecution is political as well as religious, since Christianity is associated with Russia, with whom they had civil war. The influence of Islam is growing; all indigenous Christians are seen as traitors to the Islamic society and suffer greatly from government oppression. Conversion is a great disgrace to the family and brings the risk of ‘honor killings’. Fellowship and public confession of faith is almost impossible.
Pray:
- For the few very small Christian group meetings, with no more than 3-5 members
- For Christians who receive death threats and must leave the country
- That young Chechens, disappointed with both the corrupt government and rife unemployment, may discover God’s call on their lives.
Prayers of Salvation for Christian Believers with Supernatural /Divine Protection and Deliverance through and during persecution and oppression and that they do not deny the Salvation in the name of Jesus. May the Light of the Truth penetrate this region with the Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ, that it may yield a great Harvest of Souls for salvation in Christ. May the Spirit of the Lord, and the God of All Comfort be with them in Him in this region of the world that the Refuge in His Name be known among the nations.
