Christian Persecution in PakistanPakistan’s Christians are caught in the crossfire between Islamic militant organizations that routinely target Christians, and an Islamizing culture that leaves Christians isolated from the rest of the population. The notorious blasphemy laws continue to have devastating consequences for minorities, including Christians. Women and girls from minority groups are particularly vulnerable, and sexual assaults against underage Christian girls by Muslim men continue to be reported. In September 2013, a twin bomb attack on Anglican All Saints Church in Peshawar left 89 people dead.

  • Many Christians who can afford to are leaving the country. Ask God to give His people courage to remain as a witness to their nation.
  • For the newly elected Prime Minister. Ask God to move him to take action to defend the rights of Christians and other minority groups.
  • For protection for young Christian girls who are particularly at risk of abduction or assault.

Lord, I want to pray today for my brothers and sisters in Pakistan. First I want to pray for “Selina” and “Brother Quornelius” – I pray that if Quornelius is still alive that You would bring him home to his family. I pray that You would protect Selina and her family and give them wisdom in how to live in this dangerous place. Please provide everything that they need and bring comfort to them… they need You so much.

I also pray for Pastor Nadeem and Rev Isaac who posted below. I pray for all of the Christians in Pakistan whose churches have been burnt down. I pray for physical and emotional healing for all involved and that You would continue to provide places for them to worship. I pray for those who attacked the churches – that You would get a hold of their hearts and give them Saul of Tarsus experiences so that they too can be saved. I pray for an increase in MBBs in Lahore, Pakistan! I also pray for Rev Isaac’s church – I pray that You would send people to help him to rebuild his church and all of the resources that they need to continue to function and to serve and evangelize. Please renew hope in both of them and remind them that You are with them and will never leave them!

I do want to thank You for the comparative freedom that Pakistanis have to continue to run established churches. Please help the leaders of those churches to maximize this opportunity and use their churches to be salt and light in a very dark place. I also want to thank You for the steady increase of MBBs and the increase in Christ-followers in Pakistan. Continue to grow Your church!

I also want to join my prayers together with my brothers and sisters on behalf of Asia Bibi. We are praying specifically for her release and for the revoking of her death sentence. We are praying for justice to be done and for her quick release. Please continue to give her strength – tons of supernatural strength – and protection and provision as she continues to suffer in prison. I can’t imagine how hard that must be for her. Please comfort her family and strengthen them until the moment that You have ordained for her release. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Father God, I pray that you will allow this beloved Quornelius, a son of Yours and Pastor, to return home to his family soon. I pray he is still alive. I praise You Lord that the laws of Pakistan give Christians considerable freedom to run established churches, and I pray that You bless the leaders of this country who are allowing this to happen.I also give thanks that the Christian population is growing and a steady but significant trickle of Muslims are joining churches and learning about the saving Grace of Jesus Who died for their sins and ours.
I pray also for imprisoned Christian Asia Bibi, sentenced to death on blasphemy charges. Would You please see to her immient release from prison so she too can be returned to her family and be allowed to go into exile? Please intervene for Your children Lord, at every level of life. Some of us aren’t suffering as much as others are constantly, yet our lives are also encumbered by things that officials refuse to do anything about. PLEASE Father God, answer our prayers in Jesus’ Name, and thank You so much Lord our King. I give You all Glory due Your Name. AMEN.

Father, in Jesus name, and by the power of His blood, we come to you in prayer to Praise you and thank you that the laws of Pakistan give Christians considerable freedom
to run established churches. We also thank you that the Christian population is growing and that steady, but significant trickles of Muslims are joining churches. We ask you to intervene miraculously in Asia Bibi’s situation. We ask you to encourage her to stand firm on her faith. We ask you to reverse that sentence of death and give her freedom so that she will be reunited with her family. We ask you for Selina and her Father and all the ones in the same situation. We ask you to protect them and help them to be reunited with their loved ones. We ask you for Pastor Jirom Isaac who posted and who is asking for help to build a church. We ask you to provide the materials and the builders, and to help them to build the church. We rebuke the spirit of poverty and ask you to provide all of their needs according to your riches in Glory. We ask you for pastor Nadeem who also posted and who is asking you to help the Christians in Lahore Pakistan. We ask you to protect them with your precious blood. We rebuke the spirit of death and persecution that the devil has used from long ago. We declare that you go before the Christians in Lahore Pakistan, and all the places in India were they are persecuted, as a mighty warrior. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and that your church advances in Lahore and all over India. We ask you for the salvation of those that have been persecuting your church. We ask you to rebuild yourself to them as you did to Paul. Strike them mightily in such a way that they will have to recognize that you are God and that you take care of your children. Make them repent and fall on their knees before your power and love and recognize that you are LORD. In Jesus Name, Amen.

We face persecution just about everywhere on this planet. I for one will not hide. The Apostle Paul did not hide nor did the other Apostles. Let us remember his words in the Letter to the Romans, “And not only this, but we also exult in tribulations, knowing that tribulation bring about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. “Rom 5:3-5. And even later Paul writes, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril or sword?” Rom 8:35. And still pushes forward this point,”For I convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus.
Let us focus on God’s Word and stand on it. Is a house or building of more value than standing on his Word? If we stand on God’s Word and pray he will stand with us regardless of all the Christian homes or Church buildings they burn.

    Dear Lord

We pray for all our brothers and sisters in Pakistan. We are grateful for those courageous men in office who gave their lives seeking to defend sister Asia Bibi. We pray for her and all those that she represents, her husband and children. We would pray that by your sovereign power over the forces of darkness that you will reunite this family in peace. We lift before you those who courageously share the good news of salvation at great personal risk. We long for the day of your return when true peace and righteousness will be established aver the whole earth and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Amen

I pray for Aasiya Bibi. I pray that she will have sweet times of fellowship with you Jesus. I pray for good visits with her family. I pray that she will stay strong in you. I also pray for justice for her and all Pakistanian believers. Amen.

  • Amy

Lord, I come to You today on behalf of the nation of Pakistan. As many problems and issues as we have here in this country, it is nothing compared to what our brothers and sisters are facing in this country. I am asking today for Your sovereign hand to move in that nation and to help all of Your children in that place with every need that they have.
I continue to pray for Aasiya Bibi and her case. I pray that every single day You would be her strength Lord, and that You would give her what she needs to endure. I cannot imagine what she must go through, but I also cannot imagine the grace that she must experience… a grace that I will never know because I was never in her situation. I pray that You would be true to 2 Cor 9:8 and make all grace abound to her… enough grace for whatever difficulty she faces and however low she feels. I ask that You would provide for her physical needs and her emotional needs during this time of solitude. I thank You for the hope that her case very well may be thrown out after it gets to a higher court – but there is still the time now where she suffers greatly. I ask for Your mercy, Lord. I pray that You would use her family to encourage her on the days that she gets to see them… that You would help them to be strong and to bring love and words of encouragement to her. I also pray that You would be with her family and bring comfort to them and help to them as they are forced to live without her. May You have mercy on this entire situation.
Lord, You have a sovereign plan for every believer. For some, it is for them to leave the country… and for others, it is to stay where they are in the midst of severe persecution in order that the gospel may continue to be spread in a very desperate region. I pray that each plan for each person will go forth… that those who You have called to leave will do so and will be a blessing wherever you have called them… and those who You have called to stay will have the courage to do so no matter what their emotions or their personal desires may be. I pray that You would make it clear to each believer what s/he should do.
I pray for the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and ask in Jesus’ name that You would turn his heart towards You. I know that You can save anyone and use anyone to shift the culture of a nation… and I will continue to believe for his salvation no matter what. But until that time comes, I pray that You would help him to defend the rights of Christians who are living in the country that You have given him stewardship over. Help him to be merciful to them even if he does not agree with them. I know that what I am asking is “impossible” – but You are the God of the impossible and I believe that You can do it.
I pray for all Christians living in Pakistan – for You to continue to protect them, provide for them, keep them and their families safe, be their comfort and their wisdom, provide opportunities for them to fellowship with one another in whatever way that is possible, and for You to use them as a witness for You despite huge opposition and danger. I pray especially for the young Christians girls who are at special risk. I ask in Jesus’ name that You would be their protector and that You would keep any hand of evil from taking them. I ask that You would blind potential predators from even seeing them or noticing them and that You would give wisdom to those girls’ families and where they take them and where they don’t.
I ask for You to continue to work in this nation and continue to bring revival one soul at a time. Thank You for Your heart for Pakistan and for all that You are going to do there. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I pray to Almighty God for the safe freedom and protection of Aasiya Bibi and all Christians in Pakistan. I pray Lord God You will protect their lives, families and churches in Jesus Christ’s name, amen.

I am deeply saddened to know the plight of Pakistani Christians…it’s heartbreaking. I am praying for the Lord of heaven and earth to rise up and break the hearts of the make Himself known to them and to change their lives through the power of the Gospel. Lord, please bless your followers–we are asking you to break those spiritual strongholds and allow your children the freedom to live and serve freely. Save the lost and set the prisoners free through your Holy Name. Send forth laborers and bless those who are called to proclaim your Holy Name. Teach them that you are a God of Love who gave up His only begotten Son for their salvation. John 3:16, 17

Lord, I lift Your people of Pakistan before You. Strengthen and encourage them in the midst of persecution and suffering for Your name. I pray especially for Aasiya Bibi who has been in prison going on 5 years – let her know Lord that she is being lifted up in prayer daily.

  • Katya Pledger
